FIRST CANADIAN TO SUMMIT MOUNT EVEREST

On October 5 1982, Laurie Skreslet became the first Canadian to climb to the top of Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain. Since then, while continuing his climbing, Laurie has become a successful motivational speaker who teaches business, leadership and challenge courses in the Canadian Rockies. Over the years, Laurie has participated in more 30 world-class expeditions in Canada, Nepal, South America and India. He has written a bestselling book, “To The Top of Everest” which was recently nominated for awards in two categories, the Children’s Choice Award and the Canadian Book of the Year for Children Award in 2004.
